At just 13 years old, Dani has spent much of her life fighting battles most adults could never imagine. Since infancy, she has endured chronic illness, countless hospitalizations, emergency room visits, specialist appointments, painful procedures, and years of searching for answers. While other children were making memories, Dani was often fighting simply to feel well enough to get through the day. Today, she relies on lifelong treatments to help keep her healthy and alive, yet many questions about the root cause of her illness remain unanswered. Despite everything she has faced, Dani continues to meet each challenge with remarkable courage, holding onto hope that one day she will finally have answers, effective treatments, and the chance to enjoy the teenage years that illness has so often interrupted. Thanks to the generosity of The Nicole Lindberg Family Foundation & their Journey to Better program, Dani now has the opportunity to travel from Florida to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia to be evaluated by the DIRT (Diagnostic and Integrated Research Team) Program, one of the nation's leading programs for children with immune dysregulation and complex medical conditions. For our family, this trip represents so much more than a medical appointment—it represents hope, possibility, and the chance for a brighter future. We are profoundly grateful to the foundation and every donor whose kindness is helping give Dani something every child deserves: the opportunity to be heard, helped, and given the best chance at a healthy life. Izzy’s journey is a powerful story of strength, courage, and hope. After being diagnosed with high-risk neuroblastoma, she endured chemotherapy, radiation, and the many challenges of a difficult battle at such a young age. Through it all, Izzy remained incredibly strong backed by her family, our foundation and a supportive community. Today at the age of 12 we are overjoyed to share that she has recovered completely, has no signs of cancer, and is back at school with her friends. We will continue to offer help while she is being monitored and regains her strength.
We are helping an individual who devoted nearly 30 years to caring for others within the pulmonary office at Danbury Hospital. Now unable to work and after months of worsening symptoms, numerous tests, and an initial misdiagnosis, she was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive spinal cord cancer called gliosarcoma. She is now paralyzed from the chest down and requires ongoing chemotherapy, rehabilitation, and extensive home accommodations, including a wheelchair, hospital bed, Hoyer lift, ramps, wider doorways, an accessible bathroom, and continued therapy. Her family is rallying around her and our foundation is pitching in where we are most needed.
TEAM CHRIS We are supporting an individual (middle of photo) battling esophageal cancer who has shown incredible strength and resilience through years of ongoing treatment. Unable to work, he continues to undergo chemotherapy to manage his condition while cherishing time with family and friends. He finds joy in simple moments, like playing horseshoes. Chris is also a rabid Rangers hockey fan and loves when we text him during a game. His faith continues to sustain him and we are truly grateful our paths have crossed.
